Are you an analytical individual with a strong interest in software development and algorithmic trading? Does the idea of developing algorithmic strategies in the energy trading industry sound exciting to you? Then you might be our new Algorithmic Trading Developer!

As an Algorithmic Trading Developer in Nitor’s algo team, you’ll be involved in the development of algorithmic trading strategies as well as the continuous improvement of our framework. Collaborating closely with experienced quants and our Head of Algorithmic Solutions, you’ll play a key role in transforming ideas into reality.

The algorithmic trading team is a small team responsible for automatic trading strategies at Nitor. We focus on automating strategies for the traders as well as developing our own autonomous trading strategies. We’re looking for an ambitious developer with a quantitative mindset to join our skilled and experienced team on this exciting journey.

Depending on your profile and aspirations it’s possible to get hands-on experience with developing trading algorithms or focus on the backbone of our trading systems and backtester. Either way, it’s a position very close to the market where you’ll see the direct impact of your contributions.

Your tasks will include

• Implement and deploy algorithmic trading strategies and tools in close collaboration with traders, quants, and stakeholders
• Backtest, analyze and validate strategies to assess performance and viability of new trading strategies
• Help build and maintain monitoring and control systems for live algo trading
• Review code and contribute to best practices and code quality across the team
• Optimize the reliability and performance of our live trading setup through proactive monitoring and improvements
• Maintain and improve our internal framework for strategy development and testing
• Stay up to date on market trends, trading techniques, and relevant technologies to continuously refine and evolve our strategies and technical stack

What we’re looking for 

• You hold a master’s degree in either a quantitative field (finance, math, physics, or similar) or within computer science (or related disciplines such as software engineering)
• You have strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• You’re skilled in Python
• Ideally, you’re familiar with software development best practices and machine learning algorithms
• Experience in developing algorithmic trading strategies, as well as with C# (.NET, ASP.NET Core) or C++, is considered an advantage
• You have an interest in trading and financial markets and are eager to learn
• You have a winning mentality and are willing to go the extra mile to challenge the status quo
• Prior knowledge of the industry is not a requirement
